DR NICOLE OSCHE, MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. Nicole Osche

Dr. Nicole Osche completed her undergraduate studies at Allegheny College before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008. A former high school drill team member, she met her husband, Seth—who played in the marching band—during those years, and the two have been together ever since.

Dr. Osche brings extensive experience in emergency medicine and has worked closely with board-certified surgeons and internal medicine specialists throughout her career. She serves as the Medical Director for Big Rock Veterinary Hospital, where she oversees medical procedures and clinical protocols. Recently, she was also appointed Medical Advisor for an accredited veterinary technician college, further expanding her leadership in veterinary education.

Her path to veterinary medicine was set at just eight years old. After asking for either a pet or a sibling, Dr. Osche followed her grandmother’s advice to pray for a pet. Soon after, Fred—a neighborhood cat in need of a new home—became her beloved companion. They remained inseparable until Fred passed away at age 16. This early bond shaped her belief that “no pet ever comes to the vet without a human,” and she prioritizes nurturing strong, compassionate relationships with both pets and their families.

The Osche family loves spending time outdoors, enjoying skiing, hiking, paddleboarding, and a variety of water activities throughout the year. When the weather keeps them inside, they settle in with a good sci-fi or fantasy movie. Dr. Osche is also known for her irrepressible Christmas spirit—she begins listening to carols and decorating her home on November 1st each year.

A fan of exploring new restaurants, Dr. Osche especially enjoys dining out; her favorite meal is lasagna, followed by nearly any baked treat. At home, she shares life with two very opinionated and pampered cats, Mabel and Dipper, who provide affection and support whenever needed.
